Cultural Loaders

When loaders arrived at Ivol village, they were in fact cultural loaders which invaded people’s minds. Why? Why has the Justice department issued the order and authorized the destruction of citizens homes? Why would a mujtahid, who is supposed to grieve for people’s pain becomes happy to hear about the destruction of Baha’is and Iranian citizens homes? This is the cultural loader that furrows through people’s minds posing a question about other villages that might face being leveled to the ground, in order to make happy the ulamas and spiritual leaders and religion fighters. Will the episode of the Kirbala plain disappearance would have to be repeated and another Kirbala to be ploughed for seventy years more, so as to distract the minds of people from the truth that God wants to reveal? Did the destroyers of Kirbala succeed in separating people from Martyred Hussain? Which culture is paramount today; Hussain’s culture or the culture of destroying Kirbala?

You may witness another destruction. Perhaps in hundreds of publications, thousands of Baha’is will be targets of attacks and in the name of the Islam that they lack, they would deprive citizens of higher education, but for how much longer these loaders have the capacity to destroy? Know for sure that any loader that destroys a home, brings light to a mind. Happy the homes of Ivol that turned into silent teachers of the cause of God. Happy the Baha’is who stood silent and watched directly, with flames of love and kindness, the fire that consumed their homes in that village , heard the prayers that will fill the space of Ivol, saw children that will once again go to children classes and witness being embraced with open arms by neighbours who would share the bitter memories of today’s events.

World’s Shiites are in torment and Shiite minorities in other countries are subjects of pressure and torment for the harsh treatment meeted out against the Baha’is in Iran. Because they show people that if Shiites were to assume power, they should prepare for the destruction of homes and cemeteries, expulsions and confiscations. And Shiites of other countries can not provide an answer. No matter how much they say in Iran these things are done in the name of a Shiite government and we would not be like that, they would be asked how would they be?

We witness in the religion-fighting media in Iran that the Baha’i faith is branded as a crime and as an oppositional political party; the actions of individuals have no bearing and it is sufficient if some one is a Baha’i to be attacked. These cultural loaders of media have for thirty years attacked people’s minds. It is interesting that they have ignored people’s understanding and perception and they think that any lie, any accusation and calumny and doubt can be fed to the people by repeating them in the media. But it can probably be said that the best gift of this past thirty years has been the perception, the belief and movement toward the learning curve that has no intention of stopping, either; not to accept that someone would decide for them, to interpret for them that God’s meaning of justice is to kill, that His meaning of unity is the eradication of citizens and the meaning of humanity and love is torture, branding and piercing.

Perhaps Ivol village would be destryed, perhaps the judge would be silent, perhaps the mujtahid would encourage, perhaps the one responsible would support the destroyer and perhaps another village will be part of the program, but know that for sure a lamp ignited by God will burn the beard of one who attempts to blow it out.”

Detention extended for seven Iranian Baha’i leaders

GENEVA — The imprisonment of seven Baha’i leaders in Iran has been extended for a further two months, the Baha’i International Community has learned.

The trial of the seven concluded on 14 June. No verdict has yet been given.

“These innocent Baha’is have now been held for more than two years under a series of successive orders for their ‘temporary’ detention, which by law must not exceed two months,” said Diane Ala’i, representative of the Baha’i International Community to the United Nations in Geneva.

On 24 July, two days after the most recent two-month prison term concluded, the defense attorneys for the seven once again issued a formal request that the prisoners be released on bail, as permitted under Iranian law.

Since then, the judge presiding over the case has told the prisoners that their detention had once again been extended for two months.

The attorneys have now submitted a written objection to the extension, said Ms. Alai.

“There is no legal basis whatsoever to refuse the request that the defendants be released on bail,” she said.

The seven prisoners are Fariba Kamalabadi, Jamaloddin Khanjani, Afif Naeimi, Saeid Rezaie, Mahvash Sabet, Behrouz Tavakkoli, and Vahid Tizfahm. They categorically deny charges of espionage, propaganda activities against the Islamic order, and “corruption on earth,” among other allegations.

Before their incarceration, the seven attended to the spiritual and social needs of Iran’s Baha’i community, which numbers more than 300,000. They have been held in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison since they were arrested in 2008 – six of them on 14 May and one of them two months earlier.

Their trial consisted of six brief court appearances which began on 12 January after they had been imprisoned without charge for 20 months, during which time they were allowed barely one hour’s access to their legal counsel.

“That these people – held purely for their religious beliefs – have now entered the third year of their so-called ‘temporary’ incarceration under such inhumane conditions constitutes a deplorable violation of their human rights,” said Ms. Ala’i.

“The Iranian government must know that its actions are under close international scrutiny and that it is held wholly responsible for this terrible injustice,” she said. “Once again, we call upon the authorities in Iran to take immediate action to release them.”
