Area Home Prices Rose Since Last Year Posted: 13 Sep 2010 02:00 AM PDT Statistics and numbers can be interpreted in a variety of ways. The recent news that home prices in the Washington DC area “increased 9 percent in August from a year ago” will be viewed as positive by some, while others may examine this data and reach the conclusion that this news isn’t so great. The DC area’s 9 percent increase since last year is higher than overall national gain of 6.1 percent. It is true that other parts of the country have seen a double-digit increase in their home prices. That is good news as well. However, when you consider that some of the areas that saw a double-digit increase are places like Detroit, where the housing market was absolutely devastated, you’ll think differently about that double-digit increase. The good news is that it when you are ready to sell your home or buy Maryland real estate, you can count on top Maryland real estate agent John Day to guide you through the process.
