PCA Opts One Sided Cease Fire, Invites Indians for the Same

PCA Opts One Sided Cease Fire, Invites Indians for the Same is a post from: ProPakistani

white flag thumb PCA Opts One Sided Cease Fire, Invites Indians for the SamePakistan Cyber Army has shown the grace with one sided cease fire. In return they hope that their Indian counterparts will act the same way, said an email sent to ProPakistani.

However, PCA warned the Indians that Pakistan Cyber Army has all the capabilities to retaliate and hack-back their websites at even higher scale.

PCA said it hacked CBI's website just to respond to Indian hackers, who had hacked 36 Government websites.

Following is except from PCA's statement:

WHO We Are

Pakistan Cyber Army (Real PCA is a Reality) would like to say thank you for all of the people across the globe and specially from Pakistan who are behind our team.

We would like to clarify that Pakistan cyber army do not have any forum, website, face book page or orkut community.  We are the team who are born for the retaliation purpose only we do not have any hatred or offensive thinking against anyone person, group or country.

Pakistan Cyber Army only defaced websites when the situations becomes out of control and Indians kids try to defame Pakistan's cyber security.

What We did

We defaced Oil & Natural Gas Corporation India in November 2008, Indian railway and other websites just to answer the attack on Pakistani websites.

Pakistan Cyber Army is not involved in any defacement after that. The website of "Vijay Mallya" was hacked by some kids and tries to pose that they are the real one. In our earlier statement on media we clarify that we are not associated with any websites forums or page.

What we always do

We are always watching and having eye on the things happening around Pakistan cyber security. Mean while a bunch of kids from India form a group who were inspired what we did and our name and they form "Indian Cyber Army". The kids' battle was going on between Fake PCA & ICA for almost a year.

What and Why We hacked CBI

When ICA defaced our 36 important Government websites we were unable to stop ourselves to retaliate again. CBI website was hacked and defaced in response and later the server was rooted. "It is to be noted that not a single file from the CBI server or a single record database has been deleted."

Plan of Mass Defacement Canceled

We had the plans to mass deface the Indian important Indian GOV sites but we canceled the plan. We never hack sites for the fame but in retaliation and we at PCA think that it's enough to show our capability by hacking one of many important websites.

One Sided Cease Fire

We Pakistan Cyber Army are doing one sided cease fire from our side. We hope that the common sense prevail on the other side of the border as well.

Website defacement won't take us anywhere. Website defacement is just like
kids playing with color guns :) and we are no more kids.

What Authorities should Do

We at PCA really appreciate the efforts of Pakistani authorities that recently they successfully arrest hackers who hacked into Pakistani Supreme Court and president of Pakistan's websites.

CBI should arrest guys on their side of border as well to stop these kiddies from playing around and hacking for fun.

What Young Guns Should Do

As always we would like to advise the young guns on both sides of the border to concentrate on their studies. Try to test out their hacking skills on Virtual machines (Lab environment) and be a part of your countries security administration.

Last Words

We would like to thank all of the people across the globe and specially Pakistanis who follow and appreciate us but sorry we have no email address, website or forum to respond to your wishes.

Pakistan Cyber Army is awakening as always. We are going to be sleeping once again but nobody should ever consider us dead. We are for Pakistan & Pakistan is for us.

Always consider us in your prayers.

Pakistan Cyber Army,

Pakistan Zindabad

Mobilink vs. Telenor: Sparring on the SME Segment

Posted: 06 Dec 2010 08:45 PM PST

Mobilink vs. Telenor: Sparring on the SME Segment is a post from: ProPakistani

20090205235638555 thumb Mobilink vs. Telenor: Sparring on the SME SegmentPakistan's business sector has grown exponentially in the last decade, with the entrepreneurial bug biting the masses across the rural and urban regions. Many from influential backgrounds have taken the road of private ventures as a means of diversifying the family business, and also creating a name for themselves in one way or form. Others have adopted the road to carve out a better future and avoid the daily grind; after all, if you are working hard to give someone else a profit, working for yourself might just be as fruitful.

The lack of a single definition to identify businesses that belong to the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) segment makes it harder for true data to be collated. However, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) reports that there are over 3.2 million SMEs in Pakistan, with almost 90% of all businesses falling in this segment. The key driver behind this large number is the services sector, including back offices and software houses that have evolved similarly to the American garage ideology.

It is a wonder that the mobile communication giants of Pakistan took so long to identify this segment as a vital arena for revenue generation and innovation.

Telenor took the leader role by launching the 'Karobar' package in May 2009; designed with a minimum line criterion of 5 lines and having bundles that provided team members with low-cost calls amongst themselves, the package introduced a similar level of convenience to the small business players that was once accorded only to corporate bigwigs.

In November 2010, Moblink followed suit and introduced the 'Business Package'; the criterion of 4 to 25 lines with low-cost group calls and internet bundles, took a more granulated look at the SME segment and added value to the deal by introducing broadband offers from its affiliated entities, LinkDOTNET and Mobilink Infinity.

The initial outcry from the public on Mobilink's foray into the segment was of 'Copycat'; true for those relying on the visuals alone, but not so for those analyzing the offering.

Let's look at this in another format: Apple was not the first to introduce touch-screen phones, but did become the initiator of touch-screen smartphones or multimedia phones. Several competitors followed suit as consumers responded positively to the technological change, offering more features in their devices to one-up Apple.

Just the other day, I came across a beautifully crafted Blackberry 9700 handset my friend was holding. As I stood admiring it, my friend pulled out an antenna on the phone and initiated the television program. It was a Chinese copy of the original handset, but upped the feature offering several fold. Good work!

While Telenor and Mobilink fight away on call rates, one should seek to understand the crux of each offering: the former provides all network free calls and free minutes within a group after paying a subscription fee; the latter provides a flat rate for calls within a group without paying any subscription fee. Furthermore, the cost of a standard SMS is lower on Mobilink than on Telenor. However, the broadband internet offering by Mobilink takes the offer to another dimension; one provider for a complete solution.

I leave it up to the consumers to judge which company has the better package for your needs. The positive that I take out from this battle is the recognition given by the industry leaders to the SME segment, and the hope that this will now create a wider awareness to become more consumer-oriented with their offerings.

So, whether you Personify with 'Karobar' or bring a little Indigo with the 'Business Package', stand up, be counted and continue the path of growth and innovation.

A Buyers Guide to Blackberry Services

Posted: 06 Dec 2010 08:40 PM PST

A Buyers Guide to Blackberry Services is a post from: ProPakistani

clip image002 thumb2 A Buyers Guide to Blackberry Services

Everyone has heard about Blackberry or knows someone using the services and praising them incessantly. I was never a supporter, till I started using a Blackberry and let me tell you, it is addictive.

Briefly, Blackberry is a product of Research in Motion, a Canadian company and it prides itself in letting you access your e-mails 'on the go'. Currently, the Blackberry services on offer are BIS (Blackberry Internet Services) for individual as well as Corporate customer, BES Express (Blackberry Enterprise Server Express), BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) and BPS (Blackberry professional Server) for Corporate users.

The basic services that are available for all of the above mentioned solutions are as follows:

Push Mail Phone
24 hour web access SMS
Instant Messaging Organizer Features
Attachments Multimedia Features

Blackberry Internet Service (BIS): This service is oriented towards individual users to meet all their professional, business as well as multimedia needs. It supports all basic e-mail protocols like POP3, IMAP, ISP, OWA, and offers wireless email synchronization, wireless Calendar and Contacts synchronization (through data cable) as well as attachment viewing and editing. The advantages offered as easy mail set-up, access to popular IM & social networking apps, Blackberry browser and messenger.

clip image004 thumb A Buyers Guide to Blackberry ServicesBlackberry Professional Server (BPS): This is a solution for small business organizations with up to 30 devices. This can be upgraded to the other versions as well. It has all the advantages of BIS and can simply be installed on an existing mail server and has predetermined IT policies which are easy to setup.

Also supports MS Exchange as well as IBM Lotus Domino. Startup prices are $499 for 5 users and the Blackberry Data Plan. Pricing for additional licenses to be purchased are 1 CAL (Client Access License) is $99, 5 CALs is $429 and 10 CALs is $699. It has all other features except Attachment viewing and editing option.

Blackberry Enterprise Server Express (BES Express or BES+): A great option for small and medium size businesses which require BES but cannot afford the cost involved. The best feature is the fact that there are no additional costs for CALs, no cost for server and if users remain below 70, the same e-mail server can be used. It supports MS Exchange as well as IBM Lotus Domino and in case the users exceed 70 and upto 200, a separate server needs to be installed. All other features such as wireless email synchronization, wireless Calendar and Contacts synchronization (through data cable), access to Intranet as well as attachment viewing and editing are available.

clip image006 thumb A Buyers Guide to Blackberry ServicesBlackberry Enterprise Server: BES provides a complete solution to all the communication needs of a large organization. All possible features are available and your local IT department can also make IT policies to restrict information sharing, if need be.

It supports MS Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino as well Novell GroupWise. It can support more than 2000 users per server and the start cost is $4041 which includes licenses for 20 users besides the BES data plan.

The pricing for licensing is the same as BPS with another option of 50 CALs for $3299. Supports all other features which are present in the other Blackberry options.

All the costs mentioned above are besides the Blackberry Data Plan that you will need from your local service provider.

Blackberry's USP (Unique Selling Proposition) has always been their simplicity, the security they offer with encryption for e-mails as well as Blackberry messenger and using Triple DES (3DES) for their Blackberry Enterprise Server. It is compatible with almost all commonly used E-mail servers as well as web based servers. You can also use Intranet applications on your Blackberry handset as well as manage your user's settings remotely through the server.

No matter if you are a professional, a small Business owner or a CEO of a large organization, Blackberry is there to meet all of your communication needs.

Hopefully, this little article helped you choose the solution you require which best matches your needs.

And before I forget, in case of any issues in configuring your blackberry services on your device, you can also go to http://www.troubleshootingtoolkit.com/ which is a really neat utility provided by RIM.
