Although oxygen levels are down none of the areas tested would qualify as a “dead zone”. The low levels are a response to oxygen consumed by the microbes that are breaking down tiny particles of oil. |

Both asteroids should be observable near closest approach to Earth with moderate-sized amateur telescopes.
