Vishvakarma (creator of architecture) is the Hindu presiding deity of all craftsmen and architects. He is the “Principal Universal Architect”, the architect who fabricated and designed the divine architecture of the Universe , the Lord of Creation. Legend behind Vishwakarma: According to Hindu scriptures Vishwakarma designed the triloka, the tripartite universe consisting of the Heavenly realm and worlds, the Mortal realm and worlds and the Netherworldly realm and worlds. Vishwakarma is also credited for creating the missiles used in the mythological era, including the Vajra the sacred weapon of Lord Indra from the ribs of the sage Dadhichi. He is regarded as the supreme power according to Rig Veda, the very essence of excellence and quality in creation. In the state of Bengal it is celebrated much before Dushhera which falls roughly in or around in the month of September. Vishwakarma Puja 2010: Vishwakarma is known as the divine  engineer of the world. As a mark of reverence he is not only worshipped by the engineering and architectural community but also by all professionals. It is customary for craftsmen to worship their tools in His name. Hitkari Honey: Except Hitkari Honey Other Branded Honey Contaminated With Antibiotics Posted: 16 Sep 2010 04:32 AM PDT Except Hitkari Honey Other Branded Honey Contaminated With Antibiotics according to recent study which were made by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE). CSE said the study busts the myth that commercially produced honey was a ‘natural’ and ‘pure’ product. For the study, 12 samples were picked in Delhi, all well known brands including one each from Australia and Switzerland only Hitkari Honey was take among them which was of antibiotic free and the remaining all are having multiple antibiotics in them. Many of us take honey to keep us healthy and to increase our immunity power. But a recent study shows that almost all Honey Brands  have varying amounts of antibiotics and their consumption over time could induce resistance to antibiotics, lead to blood-related disorders and injury to the liver. However, these antibiotics when taken regularly can prove harmful to kidneys, blood, teeth, liver, and bones. Most significantly, these antibiotics' regular intake can form a resistance in the body against any other prescribed antibiotics when a person really requires it on falling sick. “Other than a single brand, Hitkari Honey, all were found to contain multiple antibiotics. While there are no standards for antibiotics in India, the honey samples would have failed the standards set for export by the Export Inspection Council. The two foreign brands also do not meet their own domestic standards,” said Sunita Narain, director, CSE. Antibiotics are widely used by beekeepers. In 1965, an Italian species was introduced in India by Punjab Agriculture University due to its better yield. But it was frail and needed heavier doses. Oxytetracycline, an antibiotic, is widely used by keepers to get queen bees to lay more eggs. “While no checks are prescribed for antibiotics in honey, when we procure our stock we do not know whether it contains the drugs. The industry has been aware of the problem for several years. Most big industries are not concerned with manufacturing and only sell packaged honey. It is only a question of knowing the areas where such methods of bee-rearing are not used,” said Nitin Malhotra, general manager, Hitkari Pharmacy, manufacturers of Hitkari Honey. Hitkari does not have a huge honey business and only operates in the field seasonally. “We get our honey from small bee owners, those not operating commercially. Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government Employees raised to 10 % from july 2010 – Ministry of Finance Posted: 16 Sep 2010 03:25 AM PDT Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central Government Employees and pensioners raised to 10 % from july 2010 has been approved by Cabinet – Ministry of Finance ahead of the featival season. This Dearness Allowance (DA) has been considered as the high rate of inflation in the past six months as The Central Government Employees/ Staff already get 35% of their basic pay as DA bu placing an extra burden of around Rs 10,000 crore on the exchequer. The cabinet proposal for Dearness Allowance (DA) aims to extend relief to around 50 lakh employees and 38 lakh pensioners from the soaring prices as till recently the inflation rate was over 10% for many months. Cabinet Proposal: Extend relief to 50 lakh employees and 38 lakh pensioners 10% hike in DA and Dearness. Relief making it 45% of basic pay. Extra burden on exchequer expected to be Rs 10,000 cr. Will push up central government's wage bill to over Rs 55,000 cr. Official sources said that the 10% increase, if approved, would be released with effect from July 1 this year. The central staff already get 35% of their basic pay as DA and the proposed increase is in accordance with the formula devised by the Sixth Pay Commission to compensate for price rise. The proposed hike will further push up the wage bill of the central government, which has more than doubled from Rs 24,000 crore in 2007-08 to over Rs 55,000 crore in 2010-11 after the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations. In March, the government had increased the DA by 8% from the existing 27%. Its impact on the exchequer was Rs 8,131.20 crore in 2010-11. The DA revision is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for industrial workers, which has been showing a steep increase with other price indices.
