Amtalee: The hardest Android Puzzle

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 02:08 PM PDT

Have you ever come across a puzzle that looked so easy, you thought ” This is a piece of cake!” and then, it was only time before the puzzle started grinning back at you?

Amtalee is one such puzzle available on smartphones. It is available exclusively to Android users and is true awesomeness in the world of Android puzzles.

To start with, Amtalee has an amazingly easy first level that gets you a basic idea of what to do in the mind-baffling session that follows. In just six levels, the gameplay gets sixty times dirtier. You can get a basic idea of this from these screen captures.

The gameplay, particularly the rules, are simple. You have a block and a hole as seen and your job is to put it in the hole. You can roll the block any way you want but cannot slide it. The block has to rest on the maze completely at all times and any number of moves is allowed. That adds some ease and addiction to the game.

The graphics is smooth; the music is extremely soothing for such a brainteaser game and helps you concentrate in the game.

I have been playing Amtalee in all of my free time and have wasted a considerable amount of time on it. I recommend it to all my enemies and to all who revel in their intellectual superiority. After all, why should I suffer alone?

Get download and further info here.

Exclusive: Nokia N8 TV Ad – It’s Not About Technology

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 10:20 AM PDT

will be unveiled at the Nokia World 2010 conference next week, however, Nokia is building up some curiosity around the device by releasing some cool videos about the device.

Just yesterday, Nokia unveiled some interactive unboxing videos of the N8 and now we have access to the Nokia N8 TV ad which will go live in a few hours, which says that “It’s not technology, it’s what you do with it.”

The ad is funky at it’s best and shows small glimpses of the Nokia N8, with some really cool things you could do with the Nokia N8. Looking at the video, I definitely want to get my hands on the N8 (and will literally do it at the conference next week).

In the meantime you can check out the Nokia N8 TV Ad in the embedded video below.

Opera Mini 5.1 for Windows Mobile Improves Usability

Posted: 09 Sep 2010 03:40 AM PDT

Earlier today, Opera Software announced the launch of Opera Mini 5.1 for Windows Mobile devices. The newest build introduces a number of usability improvements to the world’s most popular mobile web browser.

Opera-Mini-5-1-Windows-Mobile

The biggest improvement is the support for high resolution devices (higher DPI), and improved page layout and font rendering. Unlike other browsers, Opera Mini, which was initially meant only for low-end handsets, doesn’t locally render the webpages. Instead it routes the requested pages through its own servers that renders the pages, compresses them and sends them back as static content. While this approach creates problems with interactive websites using AJAX and other modern technologies, it can drastically reduce data charges and even speed up web browsing on slower networks.

Other new features include support for auto-rotation, advanced configuration support for advanced users and the ability to become the default system browser. "Opera Mini 5.1 contains several key improvements for the millions of people with a Windows Mobile phone," informed Jon von Tetzchner, the Co-founder of Opera Software. "The new Opera Mini is particularly vibrant and really takes advantage of high resolution screens. And, now that you can set Opera Mini as your default browser on a Windows Mobile phone, it is much easier to enjoy the speed boost and data compression. It is our way of making your Windows Mobile phone better."

To download Opera Mini 5.1 simply browse to m.opera.com on your mobile phone.
