Anil Khanna quits from CWG OC treasurer’s post as Khanna was accused of conflict of interest after son got a CWG contract. The CWG Organising Committee today are facing more problems with its treasurer Anil Khanna by resigning from the post in wake of allegations that his son’s firm secured contract for laying synthetic courts at tennis stadium. Anil Khanna has taken up the post on Jan 18, 2010, after Ashok Kumar Mattoo due to a pay dispute with the players. Anil Khanna is the All India Tennis Association secretary-general and a Charted Accountant. This is a result of allegations of corruption in the Commonwealth Games preparations. The Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi said that he is ready to face CAG or judicial probe into the financial transactions related Commonwealth Games. Khanna’s resignation came hours before the OC’s all-powerful executive board’s emergency meeting convened to discuss the corruption scandal that has rocked the October 3-14 Games.Khanna resigned after questions were raised that there could be a conflict of interest as his son Aditya’s parent company, Rebound Ace, had got the contract for laying 14 synthetic surfaces at the RK Khanna Tennis Stadium. Aditya is the CEO of the Indian branch of the Australian-based firm. Khanna though had defended that he was not involved while granting the contract to the Australian firm. A three member committee headed by Mr. Jarnail Singh, the Chief Executive Officer and two members, Mr. G. C. Chaturvedi, Special Director General and Ms. Gurjot Kaur Chief Vigilance Officer of Organising Committee have started investigating into alleged irregularities in the orders for Queens baton Function in London. In fiscal year 2009, Tata Group revenues totaled $70.9 billion, two-thirds of which came from overseas. The group’s 28 listed companies have a market capitalization of around $60 billion. Since he took over as chairman in 1991, Ratan Tata, who serves on the boards of Fiat SpA and Alcoa, has boosted group revenues nearly 12-fold. About Noel Tata: Noel Tata is the son of Naval Tata and Simone Tata. He is married to Aloo Mistry, the daughter of Pallonji Mistry, who is the largest single shareholder in Tata Sons (the Tata Group’s holding company). He is also the half-brother of Tata Group’s chairperson, Ratan Tata Noel Tata began his career at Tata International, the Tata Group’s arm for the products and services offered abroad. In June 1999, he became the managing director of the Group’s retail arm Trent, which was founded by his mother. By this time, Trent had acquired the department store Littlewoods International, and changed its name to Westside. Tata developed Westside, and turned it into a profitable venture. In 2003, Noel Tata was appointed as the director of Titan Industries and of Voltas. In 2010, it was announced that he will take charge of the overseas business of the over $70 billion conglomerate as managing director of Tata International, raising speculations that he is being groomed to succeed Ratan Tata as the head of Tata Group. SZ and SZ-X have an all-new 4-stroke air-cooled, SOHC single cylinder with 153cc engine that has been tuned for optimum performance. SZ will be available in two colors – Black and Red while SZ-X will be available in three colors – Black, Red and Grey Metallic. The new YBR 125, on the other hand, has chiseled looks and is targeted towards executive segment customers. The bike is equipped with 123cc engine and 4-speed gear box. YBR 125 will be available in three colors – Red, Black and Black-Red colors. Yamaha said that the bookings for the three bikes will be started immediately. While YBR 125 will be available at an ex-showroom price (Delhi) of Rs 47,000, SZ and SZ-X will be available at an ex-showroom price (Delhi) of Rs 49,000 and Rs 52,000, respectively.
