Recently I had the opportunity to review a Keurig Special Edition Brewing System. I was excited to try it out because I am not a coffee drinker and my husband is – and that results in half a pot of wasted coffee every morning in our house.

The Keurig Special Edition Brewing System is a single cup system that brews coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. I was excited to learn that you can make chilled drinks with it as well – perfect for summer. (We added chocolate milk and ice to a cup of coffee and it rivaled an iced mocha at our favorite coffee shop!)

Because my husband takes his coffee in a travel mug every morning, we were happy to see that the Keurig Special Edition Brewing System allows for multiple brew size options. It also offers a digital clock, adjustable temperature and auto on/off.

I feel that this system is great for households like ours where only one person in the house likes coffee. We have been able to minimize our coffee waste which has been great. It is also fun to have on hand when people come to visit. I love being able to offer a variety of tea and coffee to our visitors. This brewer is probably not for you if you drink a lot of coffee in one sitting (like my mom!) or if you are loyal to a brand of coffee that is not offered in Keurig’s K-Cups.

Speaking of K-Cups, they are individually portioned coffee/tea/cocoa for use in your Keurig system. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Keurig offers a wide variety of K-Cups on their site – and that I can find them at stores like Kroger, Target and online at Amazon.com. You can view complete list of K-Cup retailers here. I have also seen coupons for K-Cups in my newspaper inserts – an added bonus. :-)

I don’t know about you, but I am counting down the days until my 4 year old goes back to preschool! With a newborn in the house we have been cooped up a little more than normal this summer, and my oldest is constantly asking when she can go back to school (thankfully she loves it!). She still doesn’t quite grasp the concept of time, so when my friend Summer told me about a fun way that she counts down the remaining days until school starts with her 4 year old son, I was so excited! (It’s not only fun, but super cheap too!). I know what activity we are going to be doing on Friday. :-)
