What a pretty pair! Brooke Shields and her oldest daughter Rowan, 7, enjoyed an afternoon out together yesterday, first hitting a coffee shop and then heading to a local park in Los Angeles, California (July 10).

Though she got her own start in show business at a very early age, Brooke has said that she doesn't want her girls involved in the industry.

No, I don't want them involved. Every day you're told what you are not: You're not short enough, you're not thin enough, you're not pretty enough. You're always losing out."

Brooke and her husband Chris Henchy are also parents to 4-year-old daughter Grier.

While her husband Dean McDermott is at home recuperating from his recent dirt bike accident, Tori Spelling took her kids Liam, 3, and Stella, 2, to a friend's house for a playdate in Los Angeles, California yesterday (July 9).

Tori is a regular on Twitter, and now little Liam is on the social networking site as well. The reality star mom has started a new account (@liamsworld) to record her son's funny sayings. The latest: "Oh no mama. We've got a problem... My butt is farting again"

Hugh Jackman had an entourage yesterday on the Detroit set of his new movie Real Steel: His wife Deborra Lee Furness and their kids Oscar, 10, and Ava, 5 (July 9). The handsome actor and his family were spotted heading back to their downtown hotel after a full day of filming.

Gwyneth Paltrow: "I Feel I Really Know Who I Am"

Gwyneth Paltrow is stunning as always on the cover of the August 2010 issue of Vogue magazine. The Oscar-winning mom-of-two now has a new title: Queen of the Kitchen. Often dishing out culinary tips in her online GOOP newsletter, Gwyneth is now taking her love of cooking a step further with a new cookbook titled My Father's Daughter.

Describing the book, which is due to hit stores early next year, the Vogue writer says, "Her recipes reflect the kind of cooking that Paltrow prepares for her family most nights when she and her husband stay home."

The Proof star, who has kids Apple, 6, and Moses, 4, with her rocker hubby Chris Martin, says her inspiration came from her late father Bruce Paltrow as well as her own love of food.

"I always feel closest to my father, who was the love of my life until his death in 2002, when I am in the kitchen. I can still hear him over my shoulder, heckling me, telling me to be careful with my knife," Gwyneth writes in the book's intro. "The most striking aspect about his cooking was how much joy he derived from feeding people that he loved. I mean, genuine, bursting happiness…. This book is meant to channel the ethos of my father by sharing the greatest gifts that he imparted to me. Invest in what's real. Clean as you go. Drink while you cook. Make it fun. It doesn't have to be complicated. It will be what it will be."

Now 37, a wife and a mother and well as an actress and foodie, Gwyneth says, "I feel I really know who I am."

"I've been an actress for such a long time. It's been so fulfilling and so amazing. But I took a lot of time off to have children and I really discovered another side to myself. It was a very important time for me and I feel like it really rounded me out as a human being. I think it's so important to mix things up and see things from a different perspective."

Mel Gibson Being Investigated For Domestic Violence

Los Angeles police released a statement Thursday announcing they had launched a domestic violence investigation against actor Mel Gibson, who we last reported admitted to hitting his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva on a shocking audio tape that was leaked to the press.

Oksana, who has an 8-month-old daughter Lucia, with Mel, filed a complaint against him last Monday, July 5. Oksana also filed a restraining order against the actor on June 25. Mel's friends deny that he ever hit her, instead telling People that he was trying to stop Oksana from shaking Lucia like a "ragdoll."

Others close to Mel say this allegation is not a surprise; porn star Violet Kowal who claims to have slept with Mel eight times while Oksana was pregnant has told her story to InTouch magazine, and also accusing Mel of threatening her. "His threats scared me so badly," Violet says, "I left town and went into hiding for almost a month." Mel's attorney calls Violet's story an "absurd fabrication."

Ethan Hawke was pictured out with his family - including wife Ryan Shawhughes and children Clementine, 2 later this month, Maya, 12, and Levon, 8 - in New York City on Friday (July 9).

Maya and Levon's mother is Ethan's ex-wife, Uma Thurman. Ryan is the former nanny to his and Thurman's children during their marriage.
