HTC Incredible Gets Custom ROMs Based On Android Froyo

Posted: 11 Jul 2010 09:43 AM PDT

It was just last week that the HTC Desire got the Android Froyo update "unofficially“. Now it is the U.S only HTC Incredible which has got the Froyo update unofficially. HTC had said that most of their Android phonesHTC Incredible launched in 2010, will get the Froyo update by the end of 2010.

If you are impatient and cannot wait for such a long time, then users can flash the CyanogenMod 6 on their Incredible. This custom ROM, which supports many devices including HTC Magic, G1 etcetera, brings Froyo to Incredible. However, this custom ROM has stock Froyo which means no HTC Sense UI. A user over at Droid-Life managed to flash this Custom ROM on his Incredible and took some benchmarks of the device. The results were downright impressive!

If you don’t want to lose the Sense UI, then there is a Custom ROM codenamed SkyRider for you. Keep in mind that this ROM is still in beta, but manages to bring Froyo and Sense UI together on the Incredible. This ROM still has a few bugs related to Camera, Wi-Fi etcetera.

Motorola promised us loads of Android phones this year and they are certainly making good on their promise. Engadget has managed to get their hands on some leaked pictures of a yet unnamed Motorola phone for Verizon.

The leaked handset goes by the model number Motorola WX445 and is a low-end Android phone. It runs on Android 2.1 and has a Blur-esque user interface. The touchscreen is between 2.5” and 3” and the battery is an 1170mAh one. It also has a flash-less camera.

Going by the feature set, this handset will probably be marketed as a value for money Android phone, which can act as a Motorola Devour alternative.
