What I have accomplished so far…. Posted: 03 Jul 2010 11:17 AM PDT Here’s the mess I started with…. well some of it. Here’s my coupons in alphabetical order waiting to be filed. Here are said coupons filed. The bigger box (this is the one I use) contains coupons organized first by brand name. For example Kraft dressing is under K and Crest toothpaste is under C. Then within each letter, I organize it by expiration date. This really helps to speed things up. Keep in mind that I do not cut my inserts. These are loose coupons that I have picked up here and there or received in the mail. The smaller box is inserts. I cut one insert a week. I have it divided by type. So it goes like 4/18 SS, 4/18 RP, etc. I then organize each insert by expiration date. So I know when things expire and what I need to use soon, etc. I do this because we don’t always get the same coupons as the rest of the country and I hate having to flip through an in tact insert to see if we got a certain coupon. This eliminates a lot of that headache and frustration. Now I am going to go catch up the store deals on the blog so I know what I need to cut for each store. Like this? Share it with someone. |

So if you are up to it, I challenge you to get all your coupons organized that you have been putting off. I will take before and after pictures for you guys! I’d love to see yours too…. if you want to email them to me, I’ll post them on the blog! So if you are up to the challenge…. go get busy!! Like this? Share it with someone. |

Bad News – Sara Lee Out Of Stock on the Toy Story 3 items Posted: 03 Jul 2010 05:49 AM PDT Very bad news…… Sara Lee is out of stock on all the Toy Story 3 items and from the way they worded it…. they don’t plan to restock. I am VERY bummed because we just got enough UPCs for the lunchbox. This is why it’s so important to do these types of deals a.s.a.p. You can go here to see for yourself. Posted: 03 Jul 2010 05:26 AM PDT Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do! At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice! The rules: 1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate! My progress: My mom took us out for dinner to Logan’s last night. So Good!! But she paid. :) How are you doing? Leave a comment and let me know! Like this? Share it with someone. |

Let’s Save Some Money – using vinegar as a product substitute! Posted: 02 Jul 2010 07:27 PM PDT Saving money….. now there’s a topic we all love. Most of you are here reading my blog because you want to save more money. We save at the grocery store and we save at the drug store. But there are lots of ways we could be saving and stretching our dollar…… Have you ever used vinegar as a cheap, non toxic alternative to cleaners? I’ve heard that it works great as a fabric softener, a substitute for Jet Dry in the Dishwasher and even as an all purpose cleaner. This website has 1001 uses for vinegar! So I want to hear if anyone saves money by using vinegar as a product substitute? Like this? Share it with someone. |
Time for some Childhood Magical 7.2.10 Posted: 02 Jul 2010 07:21 PM PDT 30 minutes a day is all it takes. Getting creative and finding something unique to experience will your children every day. I just got a subscription to Family Fun magazine, plus I have a lot of activity books to do with the kids. So every day, you’ll find a post here about something big or small that I did to make my children’s childhood magical. After all, isn’t that what Disney is all about? Today I took my kids to see Toy Story 3. I never tell my kids where we are going until we are headed out the door. (Well they knew about Disney this year.) So I told them to grab their Woody, Jessie and Buzz dolls (Jacob also took Mickey Woody which is Mickey Mouse in Woody’s clothes. We found him in Disney World. I’ll have to get a picture.) And Emily was like why Mama? And so I told her we were going to see the movie and she started screaming and jumping up and down. And the whole drive to the theater she carried on about Toy Story. The movie was good. But it upset Emily. She didn’t like that Lotso turned out to be bad (we met him in Disney and she remembers him smelling of strawberries) and she is still upset that they almost burned up in the fire. But she is starting to come around now…. 9 hours later. They had so much fun at the movie and they were so thrilled that I took them. What magical thing did you do with your children today? Posted: 02 Jul 2010 07:01 PM PDT My mother celebrated her 50th birthday while we were at Disney, and I wanted to get her something that would really knock her socks off. So in early February I started saving for her gift and I was able to give her an HP laptop that I got off Amazon with gift cards that I earned from Swag Bucks! (Remember I do have referrals from my awesome readers who sign up under me.) It arrived yesterday and I took it to her tonight. When she opened it, she cried. She couldn’t believe I would do something so nice for her. See my mother has a bad back and bad feet. It is very difficult for her to sit at the computer for any length of time without her feet swelling. So this was something that I really wanted to do for her and luckily the laptops have really come down in price. Her reaction today was worth every cent. Like this? Share it with someone. |

By the end of the month, you will have a mailbox full of awesome coupons and be ahead of the game! So who’s with me? Today we are emailing #13 to #24 on the spreadsheet. If you need ideas on what to write or not quite sure what this is all about, be sure to read this. Post here when you are done! |

Sometimes giving truly is better than receiving Posted: 02 Jul 2010 01:28 PM PDT Have you ever purchased something for someone and absolutely could not WAIT to give it to them? A present so great and perfect that you can’t wait to see their face? Well I did that for my mother. And now I am going to leave you all again and go give it to her. I can’t help myself. I am so giddy with excitement! And I can’t say what it is because she reads my blog…. But I will share this story with you. In 2002 I was helping my grandmother put up her Christmas Village. And she commented that she always wished that she had gotten the police station (my uncle is a police officer). Well I went online and bought it for her and raced up to her house at 9 pm to give it to her. She went to open it and she got a little irritated because she didn’t want another piece to her village (people were always trying to give her more and it fit perfectly on her mantle). But then she saw it was the police station and her face lit up in excitement. It was so awesome to make my Grandmother feel that way. So I am off again….. I’m so excited! I’ve scheduled a few more posts for you guys and will finish up the rest tonight. Like this? Share it with someone. |
