Obama's Primary Mission For NASA - Make Muslim Nations Feel Good !?! Posted: 05 Jul 2010 11:28 AM PDT This comes from Charles Bolden, head of NASA, during an Al Jazeera interview. This is the line; "foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering". NASA, once the preeminent research/scientific discovery establishment, has now been transformed into an origination designed to make Muslims feel good. Whats more, not feel good about anything they have managed to accomplish recently, but their historic contribution. I wonder why that is... Video embedded below. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/obamas-new-mission-for-nasa-reach-out-to-muslim-world-97785979.html " In the same interview, Bolden also said the United States, which first sent men to the moon in 1969, is no longer capable of reaching beyond low earth orbit without help from other nations. Bolden made the statements during a recent trip to the Middle East. He told al-Jazeera that in the wake of the president's speech in Cairo last year, the American space agency is now pursuing "a new beginning of the relationship between the United States and the Muslim world." Then:
Later in the interview, Bolden discussed NASA's goal of greater international cooperation in space exploration. " |
Lockerbie Bomber Could Live For 10 or 20 Years Posted: 05 Jul 2010 11:19 AM PDT A few notable points here. First, in order to get that 'three months to live' number they had to shop around to a few doctors. Second, the doctor that finally agreed was paid by the people shopping around to get that number. Third, that number appears little more then a guess possibly contemporaneous to the guess that he could live for decades. This really is almost shameful. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/7871234/Dying-Lockerbie-bomber-could-survive-for-10-years-or-more.html "In Scotland, prisoners are eligible for release on compassionate grounds if they have fewer than three months to live. A report in the Sunday Times said Libyan authorities, keen to secure Megrahi's release, asked several experts to put a three-month estimate on the bomber's life but Professor Sikora was the only one to agree. Professor Sikora, the dean of medicine at Buckingham University and medical director of CancerPartnersUK in London, was paid for his medical assessment of Megrahi at Greenock prison on July last year. He told the newspaper: "There was always a chance he could live for 10 years, 20 years ... But it's very unusual." |
The Economist Caught Editing Magazine Cover Picture Posted: 05 Jul 2010 11:08 AM PDT They have admitted the editing but do not see any problem with it. http://ace.mu.nu/archives/303303.php "Politics has much in common with fiction. Here's the Economist's attempt at a designated hero: Note the headline: "Obama v BP". The hero is alone, but not giving up. See his lowered head, his obvious heartache as he turns half-away from the sight of the offshore rig. Don't miss his rolled-up sleeves, his arms akimbo. The hero's not done yet. Needless to say, the accompanying article is vomit-worthy. Here's the original, un-doctored photo: Oops. Not so alone, is he? Oh, and his head's not lowered, he's just looking at debris. And he's not shying from the gut-wrenching sight out in the ocean, but just turning toward that woman talking to him. " |
