| Opera v Chrome Gets Hitler Video Treatment Posted: 05 Jul 2010 05:29 PM PDT  Opera Software last week released version 10.60 of its internet web browser and titled their press release 'What is faster than the fastest?'. Opera has created new features, like built-in geolocation and webM support, but mainly showcasing its increased Speed and Efficiency. There have been several tests around the internet not conclusively showing Opera as the fastest browser, but the competition does create some good laughs. Personally after having tried the new version I do enjoy Opera and it looks great – but in terms of actual page rendering, i believe Chrome is way ahead of Opera, or even Mozilla Firefox. This may be it is due to the DNS pre-fetching feature in Chrome or, possible because Chrome stores huge cache memory. Maybe Chrome was just built for speed from ground up, whereas other browser companies are just trying to speed up old technology. | LG to release Android-Powered Tablet Posted: 05 Jul 2010 05:07 PM PDT  LG is looking to release an Android-Powered Tablet at the end of the year. It looks like a lot of major electronics manufacturers are racing to build an iPad like device in wake of the iPad’s success. With the releases or more tablet devices this is probable to shift increasing people to mobile type PC’s. HP is expected to release a tablet sometime soon running on WebOS and RIM. There are a number of improvements to v2.2 such as: - high resolution for iPhone 4 - updated Featured Spots, Pins, and Items - multitasking support - misc bug fixes and stability improvements - syncing with iPhone contact list - easy connect to your Twitter and Facebook accounts Gowalla was one of the first Geo-location apps to release an iPad application, almost immediately as the iPad became available.
