I haven’t set foot inside a Rite Aid in over a year. Our nearest store is 30 miles away. But I am tired of missing out on all the great deals. So I am rerouting the way I shop so I can go to Rite Aid. One of my friends in California is new to bargain shopping and she is teaching me how to shop at Rite Aid. Can you believe it?? She’s such a sweet heart! I am embarking on my first ‘official’ Rite Aid visit on Thursday. Here’s what she has told me so far…. 1. Obtain a free Rite Aid Wellness Card: Use this free card at checkout to obtain the discounts highlighted in the weekly circular. 2. Sign up for their Single Check Rebates: Single Check Rebates are simple. After you are done shopping, you enter in your receipt info online. If you bought anything that matches with their current rebates, they’ll send you a check. To receive the check/money, click “Request my rebate.” It’s that easy. 3. Sign up for their video values program: Rite Aid doesn’t have a coupon machine in their store that randomly spits out coupons like at CVS. Instead, you use the video values program to obtain their coupons. I have received my $5 off $25 coupons this way. A note about coupons: Rite Aid accepts a manufacturer coupon + Rite Aid coupon for each item purchased. If you have an UP reward and $5 off $25, they’ll accept that too. Rite Aid stores accept Internet manufacturer coupons, but if a particular store has been slammed by scammers, they may adapt their own store policy accordingly. 4. View the weekly circular to plan your deals: There are copies of the store circular on a rack near the main entrance. The circular often contains valuable store coupons. You can get a lot of items for free from Rite Aid and/or make a profit, but you have to work hard to keep a low out of pocket. You can see this week’s deals here. Hypothetical Deal scenario: 6.99 Schick Hydro razor Total with wellness card: $28.44 Use $5 off/$25 coupon from video values site New Total: 4.44 + tax Result: $2.06 profit (not including taxes) Do you have any more tips for me? If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habbits, you can participate!
