Giveaway: $45 Carrabba’s Gift Cards

Posted: 22 Jun 2010 01:37 PM PDT

Recently I was asked to visit one of my local Carrabba’s Italian Grill locations and to write a review about the experience. I was excited for the opportunity because my husband and I haven’t been to Carrabba’s in over 10 years.  We loaded up our sleeping infant, dropped our 4 year old off to play with a friend and headed there for date night, and it was well worth the visit!

We decided to start the night with Carrabba’s mozzarella sticks, and they did not disappoint – in fact I would have been happy to eat all of them as my meal. :-) Carrabba’s mozzarella sticks are made using fresh sliced whole milk mozzarella and homemade bread crumbs, and it shows. There is no mistaking these for the frozen ones served at most other restaurants!

Next I chose to try the House Salad with Creamy Parmesan Dressing, and my husband ordered a cream based Tomato Basil Soup. Carrabba’s salad dressing is homemade, and again, the taste reflected that for me. My husband, who doesn’t even like tomato soup, loved it. I should also mention that the bread with dipping oil was so good. The bread was perfect, served warm and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. YUM!

For our main entrees I ordered Mezzaluna, which is ravioli stuffed with chicken, ricotta and spinach in a tomato cream sauce. This was my first time trying chicken ravioli, and I don’t often eat cream sauce, and I thought this dish was delicious. I would definitely order it again. And because the baby woke up while I was eating it, I ended up having plenty leftover to eat for lunch the next day. :-) My husband ordered the Filet Bryan (Bryan = goat cheese, sundried tomatoes and a basil lemon butter sauce) with a double side of spaghetti with marinara sauce. I did manage to sneak a bite or two of it from him and while I found the cheese to be a bit overpowering, I loved the other flavors in the dish. My husband actually loved the dish – cheese and all.

We didn’t have enough room for dessert, but had I saved room I would have ordered one of Carrabba’s mini desserts for sure. Overall we had a great night and excellent service, and we can’t wait to go back and sample more of the delicious food at Carrabba’s!

For more information including their menu and locations, visit the Carrabba’s website here and their Facebook page here. You can also sign up for the Amici Club and receive special offers, tips, inside info and more.
