Posted: 19 Sep 2010 09:43 AM PDT It’s jarring to see one of your favorite forums or web sites just go away with no announcement, and color me jarred. I was replaying Gabierl Knight 1 this weekend in preparation of an upcoming How To I’m writing and *poof* the GOG.com website and forums just disappeared to be replaced by this message:
My initial response was this looked like a website domain hack, but I’m not so sure any longer. Could this be the end of the classic game retailer? Let’s hope not. We have a message into our GOG.com Press contact for details, we’ll update you as the situation becomes more clear. UPDATE: From our press contact with GOG: “As the message on the site says, this doesn’t mean GOG is gone . We’ll have more to share in the coming days.” So this is legitimate, but not the end of the story apparently. |
