Health And Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius - "We Have a Lot of Reeducation to do" Posted: 31 Aug 2010 09:02 PM PDT "Reeducation"; Democracies do not 'reeducate' or 'indoctrinate'. When the people know and are afraid of what is actually true as has been repeatedly proven true, trying to convince them of the opposite is can also more simply be described as a lie; the the former two have much more sinister undertones. Here you have a prominent supporter describing what they are going to do in totalitarian terms. http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2010/08/sebelius-time-for-reeducation-on-obama-health-care-law.html "With a number of polls showing a sustained level of opposition to the Democrats' health care reform efforts more than five months after passage, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the Obama administration has "a lot of reeducation to do" heading into the midterms. ... With several vulnerable House Democrats touting their votes against the bill, and Republicans running on repeal, Sebelius said "misinformation given on a 24/7 basis" has led to the enduring opposition nearly six months after the lengthy debate ended in Congress. "So, we have a lot of reeducation to do," Sebelius said." |

Posted: 31 Aug 2010 08:48 PM PDT Beyond being wholly inappropriate it puts the lopsided attendance (3k for Sharpton, Hundreds of Thousands for Beck) in more context. Speaking of the massive crowd at Beck's rally, see the photo's compiled by Beck and his people at http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/44980. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/local/Education-secretary-urged-his-employees-to-go-to-Sharpton_s-rally-651280-101839293.html "President Obama's top education official urged government employees to attend a rally that the Rev. Al Sharpton organized to counter a larger conservative event on the Mall. "ED staff are invited to join Secretary Arne Duncan, the Reverend Al Sharpton, and other leaders on Saturday, Aug. 28, for the 'Reclaim the Dream' rally and march," began an internal e-mail sent to more than 4,000 employees of the Department of Education on Wednesday. ... Although the e-mail does not violate the Hatch Act, which forbids federal employees from participating in political campaigns, Education Department workers should feel uneasy, said David Boaz, executive vice president of the libertarian Cato Institute. "It sends a signal that activity on behalf of one side of a political debate is expected within a department. It's highly inappropriate ... even in the absence of a direct threat," Boaz said. "If we think of a Bush cabinet official sending an e-mail to civil servants asking them to attend a Glenn Beck rally, there would be a lot of outrage over that."" Bill Press - 'Talking About God is Not Appropriate At The Lincoln Memorial Because it is Sacred' Posted: 31 Aug 2010 08:30 PM PDT So many problems in such a short clip. Someone has to tell Bill Press what 'Sacred' means. Also, he should read the two speeches that made the spot sacred; though given the reference to God in those speeches he may change his opinion on them. Video embedded below. One in Six Americans Now Enrolled in Government Anti-Poverty Programs Posted: 31 Aug 2010 08:13 PM PDT Over 50 million Americans are now enrolled in government anti-poverty programs. That is a record high and shows how bad our economy is doing. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2010-08-30-1Asafetynet30_ST_N.htm "Government anti-poverty programs that have grown to meet the needs of recession victims now serve a record one in six Americans and are continuing to expand. More than 50 million Americans are on Medicaid, the federal-state program aimed principally at the poor, a survey of state data by USA TODAY shows. That's up at least 17% since the recession began in December 2007." |
Posted: 31 Aug 2010 08:08 PM PDT A good steak and a nice glass of wine sound like a good meal to a lot of people. Now you can have them 'blended' together with cattle who have wine in their feed. http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2010/08/27/con-wino-cows.html "Angus cattle in British Columbia's Okanagan region are being fed red wine with their grain, and chefs say it makes the beef taste unique. The idea is the brainchild of Janice Ravndahl of Kelowna's Sezmu Meats. Ravndahl said the beef produced in the wine and cattle areas of the region has an enhanced flavour, the marbling is finer and the fat tastes like candy." |
