Toluna – I just completed a product trial and got paid to do so!

Posted: 02 Sep 2010 05:49 AM PDT

I just completed a 4 week product trial for Toluna. Not only did they send me full size, name brand products to try but they also paid me to tell my opinion on them! I got $1 for the screener that came before the product trial and $2 after the trial was over. While it isn’t much, the products were worth about $10 so that’s awesome.

You can go here to register for Toluna!

Day 2 of No Dining Out September

Posted: 02 Sep 2010 05:27 AM PDT

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here and the what’s for dinner posts

My progress:

I had to take Emily to the doctor last night at supper time and we were there 2.5 hours! So when we left, we went to Chickfila while we waited on Walgreens to fill her prescription (we were 30 minutes from home). $15 for 2 kids meals and a meal for me. Sad.

How are you doing?

Branson, MO: Check out the state of the art convention center!

Posted: 01 Sep 2010 07:41 PM PDT

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Branson Convention Center. All opinions are 100% mine.

Branson Convention Center is a world-class meetings and events facility in one of the United States most entertaining destinations, Branson, Missouri.  It is managed by Hilton Worldwide so you know it will be not only be well maintained but beautiful inside and out.  Whether you are planning a wedding, a family reunion, a business meeting or any other funtion, you know you will be in great hands at the Branson convention center.

The convention center is located in The Branson Landing, a huge shopping center with some of our favorite stores like Bass Pro Shops and most of the stores you find at your local mall. But what I would really like to see is the 7.5 million dollar WATER fountain! Now that would be something interesting to see!

The convention center has 220,000 square feet of  meeting space, 2 exhibit halls with a total of  50,000 square feet plus a 23,000 square foot ballroom.  It is perfect for business meetings because it features all the latest technology, such as LCD screens in all rooms, high-speed internet and wireless throughout, video conferencing, sound proof rooms, and endless audio-visual possibilities.

Their staff will help you coordinate all aspects of your event including the following:

  • V.I.P arrangements
  • Transportation
  • Catering services and menu design
  • Customized décor
  • Coordination of move-in/move-out operations
  • Audio-visual setup and coordination

When you join the Chili’s email club, you will INSTANTLY be able to print a coupon for a free order of chips and Queso.
