The China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASTC), the satellite's researcher and producer said that the SinoSat-6 has a designed lifespan of 15 years and will eventually work at longitude 126.4 degrees east about 35,700 kilometres above the equator. Through Radio and TV, the cultural life of people living in remote and mountainous regions would be improved. Chinese first SinoSat series satellite, SinoSat-1 was launched in 1998. The SinoSat-2 was launched in 2006 but malfunctioned for it failed to deploy its solar panels and communication antennae. Bank strike/ Bharat Bandh On September 7 th 2010 and for what Bharat Bandh is calling off, whether this BharatBandh on 7th sep 2010 will took place by central government or political parties or by Maoists who called for the strike recently is the question to all. As of now, the reason for barat band is not known but according to some sources it is going to be observed all over India tomorrow. Among the significant events happening during this week are a nation wide strike by public Sector Bank employees, a rally by Rahul Gandhi and the festival of Eid. Apart from these there are others too scheduled to take place during the same week. On Tuesday, 7th September, the employees of public sector banks shall hold a strike against the govt measures to welcome more private companies into the banking sector. Bandh is nothing but protesting against something. It is a weapon that people use to fulfill their demands. Bharat Bandhs are mainly held against the government. The last bandh was observed on Monday July 5, 2010 which was called to protest against the price hike in petroleum prices. This bandh was held by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and later to join the league were Communist Party of India, CPI (Marxist), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and Forward Bloc. The AIADMK, Telegu Desam Party (TDP), Samajwadi Party, Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Janata Dal (Socialist) and INLD have also supported the strike call. The Times of India has reported that The Trade Union wings of Major Political parties have called for a all India Bandh to protest spiralling prices on Sept 7th 2010. "Buoyed up by the 'success' of the 12-hour strike earlier this month, the trade union wings of all major parties, including the Congress, have planned yet another Bharat bandh on September 7 to protest spiralling prices." "A new feature of the September strike, according to TU sources, would be the participation of the Congress-affiliated INTUC. INTUC chief and a Congress MP D Sanjeeva Reddy has been appointed convener for the TU council spearheading the strike effort." "AITUC leader and CPI MP Gurudas Dasgupta said, "I hope Reddy will fight our battle within Congress as well."” The other issues the strike will focus on are the government's `flawed' economic policy, disinvestment in the PSUs and the `unkept promise' of a welfare scheme for the unorganised sector. "At a meeting of the major TUs here on Thursday, it was decided that a 24-hour bandh would be organised all over the country crippling crucial sectors like telecom, banking, transport and mining." The 8.4m long missile can hit a target at a distance up to 290km. The missile can travel at three times the speed of sound and carry a conventional warhead weighing 200-300 kg. Defence scientists created a world record by flight testing the supersonic cruise missile BrahMos off the Orissa coast.It was for the first time that a cruise missile was tested at supersonic speeds in a steep-dive mode. The missile was test-fired from the integrated test rang launching complex-3 (LC-3) at Chandipur around 11.35 am on September 5, 2010. Defence sources said the missile was tested by the armed forces from a mobile autonomous launcher. “The missile took off successfully and hit the desired target, meeting all mission parameters. It was a fantastic launch; a 100% success,” said ITR director S P Dash. With this launch, The army’s requirement for land attacks with block-II advanced seeker software with target discriminating capabilities has been fully met. This version is ready for induction. “This will provide an enhanced capability to the user for selection of a particular land target amongst a group of targets. With this, BrahMos has become the only supersonic cruise missile possessing advanced capability, providing an edge to the user with precise hit,” said an official. The missile, which derives its name from the Brahmaputra and Moskova rivers, was developed by an Indo-Russian joint venture after the two countries signed an agreement in February 1998. It was possible to change the direction of the missile at supersonic speeds before hitting the target. The missile performed supersonic maneuvering following the exact flight path and homed on to the decommissioned target ship INS Meen.
