As many of you know, Miami-Dade County Public Schools automatically registers and pays for all sophomores for the exam. However, it is my strong recommendation that Scholars sophomores and juniors register themselves. For freshmen, the PSAT is a useful diagnostic tool to see how you score relative to other students your age. For juniors, the PSAT automatically doubles as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). Earning an impressive score places you on the radar screen of national colleges and universities, looks great when it is time to submit your applications, and may even earn you scholarship money. Again, I strongly recommend that our freshmen and juniors register for the PSAT. Registration is $13 and must be paid in cash (exact change) to Ms Guido’s office before 7:20 AM or during lunch.
